Information Design • Interaction Design • Information Architecture
I have plenty of miscellaneous graphic content to present.
All samples belong to Information Design in general sense, but collections really differ in style and function. I refused the idea to use box way of content representation (a matrix of thumbnails), as this style deprives projects of context and individuality. So I had to come up with some kind of classification that will visually sort the content in a comprehensive way.
I chose “Sankey Diagram” data visualization method, which in this particular case works as a matrix to show which projects belong to what categories.
Change of states when user clicks through the categories and projects adds much needed interactivity to the matrix. The idea to execute interactive element in Flash lays on the surface and I thought about it but decided to use plain HTML+CSS as Flash might reduce accessibility.
I guess there could be a better solution, there always is. And for now this version pretty much represents coherently my skills and taste in interaction and information design.
This site was compiled from scratch in three weeks and it was already outdated to it’s release. The number of the graphical content organized by the system is about 200 samples of my work and growing.
